Implemented Seminars The social and economic reforms of Russia in 2004 and 2005" In October, 2004, IBR Consulting GmbH, together with the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Austrian Republic and the Austrian Economics Chamber, held a seminar in Vienna titled BT)H>The social and economic reforms of Russia in 2004 and 2005.BT)K The seminar was also attended by Russian government officials. The aim of the said seminar was to further familiarize Austrian businessmen with the new legislative and normative acts of the social and economic spheres of the Russian Federation and deepen the economic relations between Russia and Austria. The seminar covered the principal provisions of new Russian legislation, including the Customs Code stipulating the creation of more favorable conditions for business and investment development in the Russian Federation. In addition to that, the participants of the seminar received information on the reforms currently being carried out in Russia. The seminar was opened by Guido Schtok, the regional representative of the Federal Economics Chamber of Austria (Aussenwirtschaft F-stterreich or A WO). The following people spoke at the seminar: 1. Svetlana Ganeeva, head of the Investment Policy and State Investment Department of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development. Topic: The social and economic development policy of the Russian Federation. 2. Alina Radchenko, adviser to the Russian presidential administration on Russian home policy. Topic: The prospects of small and medium business development in Russia. 3.Elena Maslennikova, deputy director of the Department of State Administration and Local Administration of the Russian government. Topic: The results and prospects of introducing an administrative reform in the Russian Federation. 4.Galina Balandina, head of the Legal Office of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation. Topic: The new Customs Code of the Russian Federation. 5. Gennadiy Filshin, trade representative of the Russian Federation in Austria. Topic: The current bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Austria and its development prospects. The investment cooperation of the EU and Russia.

The participants in the seminar received exhaustive information on the reforms being carried out in Russia at the moment and the forecast development of the Russian economy in the near future and in the long term. The seminar covered the principal provisions of the new Russian legislation, including the Customs Code which stipulates the creation of more favorable conditions for business and investment development in the Russian Federation.
